The angle indicator is a great index of a well run vessel in every day use and during onboard inspections.
Specially designed to prove that gangways and accommodation ladders are according to SOLAS regulation II-1/3-9 MSC 84/3/3, in which gangway’s angle indication should not be greater than 30° from the horizontal, similarly accommodation ladder’s angle should not be greater than 55° from the horizontal unless constructed for use at angles greater than these and marked as such.
